Ugba / Apara / Afirka man wake

African oil bean known as ugba or ukpaka in Igbo language, apara in Yoruba language and afirka man wake in Hausa language

It is an excellent source of energy, protein, amino acids, phosphorus, magnesium, iron, vitamins, calcium, manganese and copper. It is also an excellent source of phytonutrients such as tannins, alkaloids, flavonoids, sterols, glycosides and saponins.

Both the seeds, leaves, stems, barks, trunks and roots of the African oil bean tree are very useful for medicinal, edible and commercial purposes.

Culinary uses: Abacha aka African Salad, Isiewu, nkwobi and so on. Ugba is very nutritious and has a high protein content
