After the success of launching its Lagos-London route, Air Peace now connects passengers from Abuja, Asaba, Benin, Enugu, Owerri, Warri, and Port Harcourt to London. Passengers from these states can fly to Lagos and then board Air Peace flights to London.

Just two weeks after Air Peace started its Lagos-London route, all foreign carriers slashed fares on the route by more than 50 percent. Airlines like British Airways (BA), Virgin Atlantic, Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and others have continued to cut fares on the route as competition intensifies.

Initially, Air Peace had set its return economy class ticket at N1.2 million and N4 million for Business Class, significantly reducing fares on the route in response to competitive pressures.

In a little over a decade, Air Peace has transformed from a modest beginning with seven aircraft in 2014 into the unrivaled aviation giant of West and Central Africa, symbolizing strength, reliability, and consistency, and becoming a source of national pride for Nigerians.

In 2021, Air Peace became the launch customer for the 124-seater Embraer 195-E2 aircraft in Africa. With additional orders for Boeing 737 MAX 8 and 737 MAX 10 aircraft.

This journey has not only received local praise but has showcased the capabilities of the Nigerian aviation industry. Air Peace’s visionary goal is to be dependable for its extensive domestic, regional, and international markets.

With a cumulative total of 28 aircraft on order, Air Peace continues to break records, paving the way for route and fleet expansion to meet growing travel demands. Its fleet diversity, including Boeing, Embraer, and Airbus, ensures world-class flight services across Nigeria.

Allen Onyeama, the Chairman of Air Peace, revealed in an interview the hurdles encountered while seeking approval for their London route, ultimately selecting Gatwick following initial frustrations with Heathrow. Despite these obstacles, Onyeama maintains that Air Peace is dedicated to providing exceptional service, including competitive fares and special considerations such as discounts for Nigerian students.

He expresses pride in Nigerian travel agencies for promoting Air Peace and condemns the preferential treatment accorded to foreign airlines in Nigeria, urging the government to intervene.

On the topic of government support, Onyeama critiques the inadequate backing provided to Nigerian airlines, citing exorbitant borrowing costs and excessive charges. He contends that despite the challenges, Nigerian airlines possess the capability but necessitate more substantial governmental aid. Additionally, he criticizes bilateral agreements that favor foreign carriers over Nigerian interests.
