The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammadu Buhari paid a visit on Tuesday to eastern Nigeria, Imo State Precisely. His excellency’s proposed visit to the Eastern Heartland was to commission projects which saw completion by Governor Uzodinma’s administration.
This recent auspicious visit by President Buhari is in succession to his earlier visit a year ago on September 9, 2021. During his earlier visit he met with some traditional rulers in various parts of Imo State and also launched projects.
Upon President Buhari’s arrival at 11 am, he got a warm reception from Governor Hope Uzodinma and other leaders of the state. They equally received him at the tarmac of Sam Mbakwe Cargo Airport with a procession.
President Buhari Commission Projects In Imo State
Among the projects his excellency is to commission are the first phase of 56km Orlu-Okigwe road and the Orlu -Owerri roads.
Additionally, he would be commissioning the rehabilitated House of Assembly Complex in Owerri. It was the same House of Assembly reportedly gutted by fire in a viral video that circulated the internet last year. Although, the Commissioner for Information, Declan Emelumba debunked such rumours.
Before his excellency’s arrival to the state, a crowd of spectators waited at the House of Assembly. Several citizens of Imo State trooped out happily to welcome his excellency and to also witness President Buhari commission projects finalised by Imo State government.
There was a mandatory sit-at home order in the south-east on Tuesday, issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra(IPOB). As well as that Thursday when he visited Imo State last year.
