INEC meets to review legal electoral framework.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC restates its commitment to sanitizing the electoral space by facilitating an amendment of electoral law.

INEC chairman Pro. Mahmoud Yakubu says areas of the reviews will include primaries, pre-election matters, and post-election issues. the commission will also engage members of the national assembly to ensure that parts of the electoral laws are amended.

The chairman also stated that sanctions will fall on electoral offenders whether the persons be government officials or civilians who violate electoral processes during elections. These processes will have to be approved by the National Assembly and then approved by the President of the federal republic of Nigeria after a brainstorming session of Thursday the 5th of March and Friday the 6th of march 2020.
